The Art of Social Networking With Finesse...

This morning as I started my day, I checked my email and proceeded to log-in to one of the many Social Ning Networks to which I belong -- only to be greeted with a barrage of duplicate sales letters masquerading as so-called "comments" on My Profile Page...

Thank goodness for the Ning feature which enables me to approve comments before they actually appear on my page. Well, I deleted the SPAM, was mildly annoyed, and would've directly proceeded to check my email, but I stopped and remembered that not so very long ago, I was new online and how much I didn't know and had to learn... and while I never left a sales letter on someone's page, I'm sure that I made clumsy and unintentional mistakes which might've been aggravating to others and if it had not been for their patience and kindness in assisting me, I probably would not be in the position I enjoy today.

To this end, I penned a Private Message via internal network email since the person from whom I had received this was actually someone I had accepted to become a friend. In my email response, I explained why this might be viewed as inappropriate and perhaps rude -- which would circumvent his intended purpose. I went on to mention that a brief comment with a hyper-linked web address beneath a signature would probably go a lot further and how a compliment together with an expression of gratitude preceding that signature-link might serve to open the door toward establishing a favorable rapport for future interaction, business discussion and arbitrage.

In addition, I called his attention to one of my Banner Postings and invited him to download the FREE eBook from same so that he might learn about the Art of Social Networking (Social Bookmarking Exposed) and even more from which his marketing efforts might benefit. Almost no one who's on the Web is here just for fun or study, nearly everyone is trying to market something to generate income, given the Current World-Wide Economic Climate, in order to just make ends meet.

While some of us are here as Veteran Marketers and expertly use this media daily to earn a Substantial Income from which we live, others are just beginning and as such, are still green, so this posting is written as a reminder to remember to take time to be kind and lend assistance and encouragement to those who are trying to find their way.
